Daily Variety is reporting that Jeremy Piven will abruptly end his run in Broadway’s “Speed-the-Plow” due to a high mercury count. Ummm, ok... but it seems I'm not the only skeptic. David Mamet, who wrote the showbiz satire had this to say:
“I talked to Jeremy on the phone, and he told me that he discovered that he had a very high level of mercury. So my understanding is that he is leaving show business to pursue a career as a thermometer.”
Hmmm...
Regardless, it will be interesting to see who they get to step into the role. Word on the street is that Norbert Leo Butz, who I saw in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels alongside John Lithgow, will be his temporary replacement. Maybe my Entourage and I will go check him out.
